Get your site listed in all the search engines

This is the most important thing to do to generate traffic to your website. You have to go to each big search engines and submit your web URL to them. For example, Yahoo and Google, these are 2 big search engine you want to submit to. There are many small search engines also but they use Yahoo or Google search index. So, I don't think you should bother with the small search engines. If you want you can let Google find you them self by submitting to a popular article site.
